Durham Legacy Program and Registry Durham's small local businesses are an essential part of the city. Many of them have been around for generations and hold a special place in the hearts of Durham natives as well as newcomers to the area. The Durham Legacy Program hopes to preserve these businesses, and make sure that they can continue to grow for many years.
What is a Legacy Business? Different cities, counties, and towns define "Legacy Business" in different ways. These definitions are created based on a location's specific history and business ecosystem.
A Durham Legacy Business is defined as:

Congratulations to the graduates of Momentum Financial Academy: Microenterprise Edition! All eleven graduating business-owners completed a four-week intensive course to establish key financial skills for growing and sustaining their microenterprise (a business with 5 employees or fewer) here in Durham. The graduates will now have the opportunity to apply for free accounting software and a grant from the City thanks to a program created by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
